East Kent

East Kent, the most south easterly peninsula of England and the UK is only 20 miles from France. The area has been the jumping on point for most invasions and proposed invasions from time immemorial as well as the jumping off point for invasions of our own!

The coastline is mainly chalk cliffs and sand or low tidal stretches with pebble beaches where the seaside resorts have been the playground for Londoners.   The rolling hills of the North Downs has very ancient tracks and paths.
